Okay, so this is an old movie now but it has been on my to-do list for a long time. There was always a lot to like about Spider-Man 3, but unfortunately it felt conjested with too many side stories going on.
I have always wanted to remove the Uncle Ben sub plot in this movie, and after getting inspiration from another Fan Editor's cut I decided to go ahead.
With direct inspiration from what I had seen others do, I put together the Avid4D Recut in 1440p resolution. I could have done it in 4K but I didn't want to spend too much time, as editing in 4K is slower on my PC. I've watched my edit on my 82 inch 4K screen and this 1440p version certainly holds up, so I am more than happy with it.
Various scenes have been added, amended or removed, thanks largely to a couple of Fan Edits I watched from other creators. In addition to removing the Uncle Ben side story, I also greatly reduced the amount of focus on Sandman's daughter. He now has sorrow for his child, but also comes across as a criminal.
I also removed some of Peter's cheesy moments when he was under the influence of the black suit, and no more awkward dancing!
